Conference Papers

Research papers are solicited that present original research results clearly related to visualization problems. Application papers are solicited that present the contribution of visualization techniques toward the understanding of application-specific data. In particular, application papers must explain the effectiveness of the visualization methods for the particular application. For both research and application papers, we seek submissions of high quality that significantly further the knowledge and understanding of the visualization community.

All papers accepted to IEEE Vis will appear in a special issue (Nov/Dec 2007) of IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) containing the conference proceedings. This special issue will be published before the conference, the publication date aimed at is October 1st. Papers (including supplemental material) may undergo a revision and review cycle after initial notification of review results in order to ensure they are acceptable for publication and presentation in the journal.

We solicit papers in the traditional core of the visualization area. Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:

  • Distributed and Collaborative Visualization
  • Flow Visualization
  • Information Visualization
  • Isosurfaces and Surface extraction
  • Large Data Visualization
  • Multi-Resolution Techniques
  • Multimodal Visualization
  • Novel Mathematics for Visualization
  • Parallel Visualization and Graphics Clusters
  • Point-Based Visualization
  • Security and Network Intrusion Visualization
  • Software Visualization
  • Terrain Visualization
  • Time Critical Visualization
  • Time-Varying Data
  • Uncertainty Visualization
  • Unstructured Grids
  • Usability and Human Factors in Visualization
  • Vector/Tensor Visualization
  • Virtual Environments
  • Visual Knowledge Discovery
  • Visualization Systems
  • Visualization in Earth, Space, and Environmental Sciences
  • Visualization in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Engineering
  • Visualization in Social and Information Sciences
  • Visualization over Networks, Grids, and the Internet
  • Volume Visualization

Papers will be submitted electronically here. Submissions are limited to 8 pages. Please click here for formatting guidelines and here guidelines on supplement materials.

Following the tradition of IEEE Visualization Conferences, IEEE Visualization 2007 will not use a double-blind review process. Reviewers will, as usual, remain anonymous. Authors can place their names on the title page of the papers.

The submission of a video (up to 5 minutes in length) to accompany the paper is encouraged. Papers, videos, and supporting materials will be submitted electronically. Note that submission of an abstract for papers is mandatory by March 21, 2007 and full papers are due 10 days later. All submissions must be original works that have not been published previously in any conference proceedings, magazine or journal. We do not allow concurrent submissions. If we determine that a manuscript has been submitted to another conference or publication before IEEE Visualization's review process is completed, the manuscript will immediately be rejected.
