Welcome to the student volunteer chapter of the IEEE Visualization conference.

Each year student volunteers provide essential support to the annual IEEE Visualization Conference. The conference depends on student volunteers to staff the various conference events and special purpose conference rooms. Their enthusiastic participation enhances the conference experience for all the attendees.

Student volunteers benefit by observing first-hand the latest advances in visualization, hearing and meeting world-class as well as next-generation visualization professionals from around the world, and building a network of research colleagues.

The Student Volunteer Program is looking for reliable, hard working, and enthusiastic student volunteers to help us create a great experience and a premier conference. If you would like to take part in the conference as a student volunteer, please fill out the application form.

Qualifications
Applicants must be enrolled as full- or part-time undergraduate, or graduate students during the 2003-2004 academic year.

Selection Guidelines
In past years, the conference has had more volunteer applicants than positions. The following considerations will influence selections:

• Previous success as an IEEE Vis volunteer.
• Selection for presentation at IEEE Vis 2003 Conference or associated symposia.
• Enthusiastic recommendation from faculty or professional mentors.
• To ensure broad participation, the number of volunteers from each institution may be limited.

Deadline
The application period has closed.

However, completed online applications are being accepted here for alternate Student Volunteer positions. As Student Volunteer positions become available, alternate Student Volunteers will be offered Student Volunteer positions. Notification of Acceptance
Applications will be reviewed after the submission deadline has passed. Applicants will be notified in two weeks concerning their admission into the Student Volunteer Program.

Application Expenses
In exchange for 22 hours of work, student volunteers will receive many benefits including free conference/symposium registration, tickets to receptions (Monday and Wednesday), an invitation to the volunteer thank-you party, and approximately half of your accommodation costs if you share a room at the Conference hotel with up to two other volunteers.

Student volunteers are responsible for the remainder of their accommodation cost as well as their meals and travel to and from Seattle
